Here, how to shutdown Windows on timer or schedule shutdown with just several clicks.

Note: I'm showing how you can schedule shutdown in Windows 10. But the below scheduled shutdown procedure will work in Windows 7 and Windows 8 too.

Auto Shutdown Windows

There are two techniques to auto shutdown window. The first is useful when you wish to create a temporary and single-use shutdown timer.

The second technique is useful when you wish Windows to auto shutdown in a specific time regularly, like when you go to sleep.

I will show both PC shutdown timer methods, use the one depending on your needs.

1. Windows 10 Shutdown Timer

Though Windows doesn't have visible option to create a Windows shutdown timer, you are able to auto shutdown Windows having a single command. All you need to do is execute a single shutdown timer command either in PowerShell or Command Prompt.

This process is very useful when you have to spontaneously set a shutdown timer to auto shutdown Windows. For example, this can be used tip to limit how long your children may use the system.

1]. To create Windows shutdown timer, search either for PowerShell or Command Prompt and open it. With my case, I'm using PowerShell but you may use Command Prompt too.

2. Within the PowerShell or Command Prompt window, execute the below auto shutdown command. Replace XXXX using the quantity of seconds.

shutdown -s -t XXXX

For instance, if you want to auto shutdown window after An hour then your command is going to be something similar to shutdown -s -t 3600.

As soon as you execute the command, Windows will schedule shutdown and displays a notification of the identical. When the time expires, it'll disable a warning to save your work and shuts down the machine. There is no visible cancelation choice to abort the shutdown.

2]. Windows 10 Scheduled Shutdown Using Task Scheduler

If you want Windows to automatically shutdown at a specific time every day or at regular intervals then you can do that too. We just have to create a scheduled task while using good old Task Scheduler.

1. Search for "Task Scheduler" within the start menu and open it.

2. Within the task scheduler, click on the option "Create basic task."

3. Within the task creation wizard, enter a meaningful name, description, and click "Next."

4. Now select how often you want to repeat the task. In my case, I wish to shutdown my system daily. So, I decided the Daily option. You are able to select whatever option you would like.

5. Go into the some time and click "Next." Since i have want to shutdown my system at 11 PM, I've entered appropriate time.

Note: If you are using 12-hour clock then be sure to select AM or PM. If you are using 24-hour clock then enter the time in 24-hour format, as shown in the below image.

6. Here, enter shutdown.exe in the Program/Script field and /s within the Add Arguments field. Click "Next" to continue.

7. Click "Finish" to accomplish the process.

8. When the task has been produced, you will see it prepared to be executed within the Task Scheduler. The job will be executed and the system will shutdown according to your settings.

If you wish to test the scheduled task, save all of your work, right-click around the task and choose "Run."

That's it. It is that easy to make Windows scheduled shutdown.

In future, should you no more want Windows to auto shutdown, right-click on the task and choose the choice "Disable." This course of action will disable the task. If need be, you can even delete the job by selecting the option "Delete."

Oh, if you're wondering, you may also cancel scheduled shutdown on Windows.

How to Automatically Switch Between Light and Dark Mode in Windows 10

Starting from v1903, Windows 10 lets you choose from Light Mode and Dark Mode. If you visit the "Personalization -> Colors" page, you can pick the color mode of your liking. As an alternative, you may also schedule dark mode and lightweight mode in Windows 10. Allow me to show you how.

For the most part, many like their system to be in dark mode at night times to avoid the bright light emitting from the screen. For whatever reason, Microsoft didn't range from the ability to automatically switch between light mode and dark mode.

With my case, I really like the new Light mode theme in Windows 10. However, at night times, I typically lower the screen brightness close to 15% to 20% to lessen stress on my eyes. Sure, I'm able to manually change to the dark mode but I'm too lazy. Thankfully, I recently found an incredible app that allows you to switch between light mode and dark mode on schedule.

Just setup the app once and it'll do its part of the backdrop.

Schedule Dark Mode and Light Mode in Windows 10

To automatically set the dark mode at night time, we will make use of a free, open-source, and lightweight application called Auto Night Mode.

1. To begin, download the software from Github and do the installation like every other Windows software.

2. Once installed, launch the application from the beginning menu. If you do not see it within the Recently Added section, look for "Auto Dark Mode" in the start menu and then click the end result.

3. To start while using application, first, select the "Enable automatic theme switching" option.

4. As soon as you select the option, all the other settings will come alive. By default, the app makes it so the dark mode automatically starts at 7 PM every single day and the light mode start at 7 AM. For the vast majority, this time setting is fairly good. Otherwise, modify the time "Custom start-time" setting to meet your requirements.

5. Instead of setting a custom time, you can also result in the app make use of your location's sunrise and sunset time to automatically switch between dark mode and light mode. Simply select "Use Location Service" checkbox and you're simply good to go.

Note: If the location services are disabled, the app will launch the place services page in the Settings app. Enable the location services for apps feature.

6. One of the neat features of the car Dark Mode app is that it can also switch wallpapers according to the light or dark mode. To create light and dark mode wallpapers, click the "Configure Desktop Background" button.

7. Within the next window, set the sunshine and dark mode wallpapers by clicking on the "Pick a file" button. When you selected the wallpapers, click the "Save" button. From now on, the app can change the wallpaper based on your settings.

Wrapping Up

Once you configure the application, you can close it. When the time is appropriate the application will launch in the background utilizing a scheduled task and changes the Windows theme.

If you don't want the app to switch Windows 10 theme then uncheck the "Enable automatic theme switching" option.

That is all. It is that easy to schedule dark mode in Windows 10.

Steps to make Or Create An Invisible Folder In Windows 10

Are you aware that you may create a hidden folder in Windows 10? Adopt these measures to create a previously existing folder invisible or create a new invisible folder in Windows.

If you have never learned about an invisible folder, you might think from it like a hidden folder. It isn't. Whenever you hide a folder, Windows will remove it from the standard structure. Unless you specifically choose the "Hidden Items" checkbox in File Explorer, you simply cannot see the folder.

On the other hand, when you make a folder invisible, it stays within the normal structure. However, it becomes completely transparent. For instance, should you produce a folder on your hard drive, move it to a corner and make it invisible, it will likely be there however is not visible. Unlike the hidden folder, you don't have to unhide it first. Technology-not only like every other folder.

Important: Don't store your important files within this folder. This isn't a safe and secure method to store your sensitive files. Consider this as a fun method to mess with your friends, family, and colleagues.

Steps to Create Invisible Folder

It is rather simple to make a folder invisible. All you need to do is name the folder having a blank string and then set the folder icon to some transparent image.

1. First, produce a new folder by right-clicking around the desktop and selecting "New → Folder". If you already have a folder that you might want to make invisible, skip this step.

2. Now, you have to name folder. To achieve that, choose the folder and press F2. Now, hold down the Alt key and press 0160 in your Number Pad. Doing this will produce a blank character.

Note: You have to press the numbers around the Number pad with Numlock turned ON. When there is no Number Pad on your keyboard, connect one that has. There is no way around it.

3. Next, you're ready to change the icon. Right-click on the folder and select "Properties".

4. Within the Properties window, visit the "Customize" tab and then click the "Change Icon" button.

5. Now, scroll sideways before you see blank space in the window. Select one from the blank space's and then click the "Ok button.

6. In the main window, click on the "Apply" and "Ok" buttons in order to save changes.

That's it. You've created a hidden. Just put it in a corner with no one will think it is. Keep in mind that if you alter the View or Sort By option, the folder might rearrange itself between other folders or icons on your desktop. When that occurs, others will see a suspicious blank space between the icons.

To take it one step further, it is possible to hide the folder (right-click → properties → select "Hidden" option). This way, even if someone selects the whole desktop or rearrange the icons, the folder won't be visible. The added benefit is the fact that despite unhiding folders and files, the folder will still be invisible. You can also use the attrib command to cover the folder.

Like I said before, just use this as a trick to show off in order to have fun with your friends. Do ever make use of this to safeguard your important and sensitive files. For all those kinds of situations, use software like BitLocker or VeraCrypt.

That's it for the time being.
